The L Project released an LGBT anti-bullying charity song entitled 'It Does Get Better' on Feb 11th 2012 which was recorded by 17 of the UK's most talented female lesbian artists. Within 17 hours of release the song shot to No1 in the UK Amazon and iTunes charts, it held position there for 8 days. Amazingly it also reached No.11 in the Official UK Independent Charts. 'It Does Get Better' charted in 4 different countries worldwide.
In May 2013, Sofia and Georgey were flown out to Ohio, USA and Norway for 2 special performances of the charity song. The song also won 3 awards, had worldwide LGBT media attention, was supported and shared by lots of LGBT celebrities, and most importantly raised thousands for LGBT charities. All proceeds and royalties from the song and video go directly to two chosen charities Stonewall and Diversity Role Models who both help prevent LGBT bullying. So far on Youtube along with it's subtitled and signed version 'It Does Get Better' has reached over 415,000 views!
In May 2014 The L Project did it all over again with their follow up LGBT charity song 'We're All Human' recorded by 27 lgbt UK artists. This time within 15 hours of release they reached the No.1 spot on Amazon Folk Charts and No. 2 in the Rock charts, and held it's position for over a week. The song also reached No.10 in the singer songwriter charts on iTunes as well as charting in the top ten Rock charts. The song also reached No.10 in the Official UK Independent Breaker Charts and No.36 in the Official UK Independent Singles Charts.
The song had worldwide LGBT media attention, was supported and shared by many LGBT celebrities including Stephen Fry and Clare Balding, and continues to raise money for LGBT charities. All proceeds and royalties from the song and video go directly to three chosen charities Mermaids, The Russian LGBT Network and The Kaleidoscope Trust. The L Project is run by Georgey Payne and Sofia Antonia Milone and continues to raise awareness of LGBT issues.
