About us

Friends of L Fest began with two ladies who following the Olivia cruise were so inspired that they wanted to give something back and so donated five tickets to L Fest 2017.  The tickets, to be given to ladies who perhaps would not be able to financially afford to come and join us and become part of the L Fest family.  Those ladies then recruited others to purchase further tickets.  Together we are Ambassadors to Friends of L Fest. Ambassadors work to promote positive living through making a contribution to Friends of L Fest to support women who perhaps would not be able to come to an L Fest event. We also work to remind individuals of our rich history.

It has been 50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality, almost 20 years since the repeal of Section 28.  Our history is riddled with stories of those individuals who paved the way by raising their voices and through their actions and their words because of them, because of you we are here today!

So join us in supporting other women who are perhaps not financially able to come to an L Fest event and be part of the L Fest experience, by making a financial donation or purchasing a ticket or by just spreading the L Fest word.  Together we can make a difference and touch the lives of others and keep our history alive.

We would love to hear from you if you would like to attend and cannot financially afford it or to nominate a person or group of people to receive the free tickets available for 2018. We currently have 24 tickets available through donations from other L Festers and matched 1 for 1 from L Fest  We hope to get many more to support those who would be most beneficial to join in this safe friendly entertaining festival but may not be able to financially commit to it.
