Much of the inspiration behind Hannah Scott’s music can be found in her affinity with Italy. A year living and working in Tuscany in her late teens provided the backdrop to her early work and she has found her musical home with creative partner Stefano Della Casa, with whom she is currently travelling between the UK and Italy to write and produce her forthcoming record, due out later this year.
Hannah’s latest release, Hurricanes, earned her an invitation to record a live session on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show and has been played by Bob Harris on Radio 2, as well as being chosen by BBC Introducing as their “Track of the Week”. She recently travelled to New York to perform at music festival and conference Mondo NYC and was awarded funding by PRS Foundation to attend.
Praise for her distinctive voice, strong melodies and thought-provoking lyrics has arrived from influential publications such as MOJO Magazine, who shortlisted her from hundreds of entries for the final of their New Voice competition and The Guardian newspaper, who handpicked her as their New Band of the Day. She can also be heard in Caffè Nero, where she has twice been “Artist of the Month”, in Starbucks and in bars and hotel chains around the world.
Her arresting live performances have earned her invitations to open for artists including Seth Lakeman and 10cc and she has performed at renowned venues such as London’s Union Chapel as well, of course, as playing throughout Italy.
