Evelyn Silver was active in early 70s Community Arts, and subsequently worked in Leicestershire County Drama Workshop. During the 80s, she practised Performance Art, and was part of Sister Seven and Nottingham’s Visible Women artists groups. Informed by feminist and Jewish politics, she presented work independently of mainstream galleries, engaging with grassroots politics and actions, and was one of the original group of women to establish Greenham Common Womens Peace Camp. During the 90s Evelyn focused on her Acupuncture practice, culminating in 2000 with a residency in New Zealand. On return to the UK she was known for her beautiful glass art, and is now established as an artist/celebrant with her company, Star Ceremonies. Nenagh Watson’s background is in Sculpture & Theatre, with specific puppet focused training at I’Institut International de la Marionnette Charleville-Mezieres, with Philippe Genty 1985. Here she also worked with Tadeusz Kantor on his piece ‘A Short Lesson’ 1989. Nenagh was co-artistic director of doo-cot 1990 – Oct 2007. Barking Dog, was established in 2008 to promote her collaborative projects. During 2008/9 she undertook a Puppet Centre Trust bursary focused on Punch & Judy. Nenagh was awarded an AHRC Creative Research Fellowship hosted by RCSSD which began in May 2009 and concluded May 2014. She was subsequently sabbatical cover for Head of Puppetry from September 2014 – December 2015. She is currently an Affiliated Research Fellow at RCSSD, freelance puppet consultant with a special interest in arts within Care Homes.
